No such thing as bad publicity with domain names

With the recent passing of pop star Michael Jackson, the media has picked up on the amount of people registering domains related to the icon. At the best of times, the term “cyber squatters” is thrown around loosely by the media, though in most of these current cases it’s justly deserved.

Normally this sort of spotlight attention is destructive to domainers. As derogative labels become more venomous. However, there has been a noticeable increase in members on domain forums. Admittedly, many are asking for appraisals on three-word domains relating to Michael Jackson, all being absolutely worthless. But hey, who hasn’t registered a bad domain? especially when being new to domain names and domaining. A little sharing of wisdom from more experienced domain owners, and these domain newbies will be on track to get more involved with domains and start acquiring better names. In principle this should increase the value of everyones domains! (excluding three-word domains relating MJ :D )
