After blogging last week about the sale of Hotel-Reservation.com for six figures, there have been more impressive sales of domains which include hyphens. The biggest (publically known) sale this week was produced by Sedo, the domain was risk-consulting.com and the price tag a cool $9,500. Backing that up was an interesting sale of add-articles.com for $3,000, which appears to be a developed article directory.

There’s been a lot of nattering amongst domainers after Rick Schwartz posted on his blog that his Adsense account had been shut down, the reason given was that Google is on a witch hunt against minisites. 50 blog posts and 500 comments later, people suddenly opened their eyes to the possibility that these minisites were nothing more than spruced up parked pages.

A minisite, at the very least, should contain handful high quality pages, a portal which offers something valuable to viewers.

Hotel-Reservation.com was sold via Sedo for €142,800. To back up that hyphenated domain sale was another, Live-Odds.com went for €8,000. Both of these domains relate to massive markets and it should give a confidence boost to other hyphenated domains.
