Saturday, July 25th, 2009As domainers and developers first and foremost, one of our biggest postives is getting things done efficiently. Responding to customer’s inquiries or finalizing domain transactions within a 30 minute timeframe is one our big positives. Hey, we’re not going to only blow our own trumpet, there are some great companies out there who also provide excellent customer support. For instance, our web hosting provider Liquid Web does a fantastic job.
Slow customer service is an issue that plagues many big companies. The main protagonist of this post is the online payment processor – Moneybookers.com – which feels that replying to emails once a week is acceptable. This lackluster performance is simply not good enough, especially in this day and age.
Sedo Parking – Thumbs Up!
Friday, July 24th, 2009Sedo’s parking service tends to get bashed on the domain forums. Domainers often complain about the regularity of clicks which pay only a couple of cents. So, we thought we would shine a little more light on Sedo as their domain parking performance has improved.
As Parked.com is struggling lately due to Yahoo, their feed provider, paying diddlysquat for high quality traffic and clicks, we decided to shift some of our heavier trafficked domains over to Sedo. The result has been positive in all cases. Overall, revenue has increased by 700% compared to the start of the month when our domains were using Parked.com.
Fabulous.com Price Hike – Justified?
Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009Earlier this month domain registrar Fabulous.com increased their prices for domain registrarion, renewal and transfers. The increase was universal across all TLDs and tiered pricing was introduced.
Taking .com as an example, the price increase for those that own less than 100 domains is $1.69, $7.30 to $8.99. A staggering 23% rise. (more…)
